The SILVANUS 2D Camouflage Pattern, a brief overview introducing this new Forest Camouflage

A concise introduction about the ProApto's Exitium Silvanus 2D camouflage design developed for evergreen forests and taiga.

Introduction

The Silvanus pattern was designed for forests, evergreen woods and taiga environments. It is a specific pattern for evergreen areas, such as cold forests, nordic peatlands, boreal mountain lands characterised by coniferous and also tropical rain forests. The pattern shows multiple dark green shades contrasted with light green mossy\leafy tones alternated with dark browns shifting to reddish. Silvanus has a role also as urban pattern particurarly when implemented with 3D elements. Both the colour scheme and the texture are protected in Italy by SIAE and are covered by ProApto's international patent of Multispectral Camouflage.

The Pattern Silavnus (Exitium Silvanus) is part of the Exitium family, consisting of 12 camouflage designs. The Exitium family, in comparison with our Transitio family (consisting of 6 designs), features a less marked macro camouflage with a more pronounced micro pattern. This makes the Silvanus more suited as a base for 3D applications particurarly in shades of light green and \ or leafy shapes. The name Silvanus comes from ancient Roman deity Silvānus, a tutelary spirit protecting wooded areas, worshipped by the Romans for safeguarding forests and agricultural activities. Furthermore, in ancient Roman Latin the noun silvă, silvae means "forest, woods, fronds". The name was therefore chosen as to represent the environments where this pattern is designed to be used.
